eEGRA well received at CIES

At the recent conference for the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES2012) I had the privilege of chairing a session on Tools for Assessing and Improving Literacy. In a joint presentation with Ms. Tvaruzkova of JBS international, we shared our experience using eEGRA in West Africa and Central Asia, with Ms. Tvaruzkova elaborating on the particular ease with which eEGRA was adapted to the cyrillic alphabet, customized to their project needs and then implemented by a local partner with very little training.

The session was well attended, and we also enjoyed the presentations of our fellow panelists on instructional time in India and vocabulary development among second language learners in West Africa.
